Cabinetmaker and Bench Carpenter sets-up and operates a variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden benches and cabinets. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Cabinetmaker and Bench Carpenter is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Cabinetmaker and Bench Carpenter performs a variety of tasks. The position is responsible for the completion of the daily scheduled and unscheduled carpentry duties, and other duties as assigned by the Public Works Director.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand with occasional sitting. Occasionally the employee must squat, crawl, crouch, and kneel with frequent bending, climbing, balancing, and push/pulling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to heights, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.
