Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician at a resort in Ocean City, Maryland named Coconut Malorie Resort. This position will undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of the premises. You will perform all-around general maintenance tasks of a great variety such as repairs, painting, light construction, installations, etc. This is a full-time year-round position with benefits offered. Starting rate will depend upon experience. All applicants must be available to work first and potentially second shifts and should have at least one year of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel/resort setting. WORK OBJECTIVE:
Ensures that facilities are kept in good repair and working order by performing maintenance duties that can include tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic equipment or facility repairs. Work is performed under supervision and in partnership with the Chief Engineer or supervisor assigned to a contracted CRM property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains all building-related systems as well as the physical plants to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all resort guests, associates, and vendors
- Completes work orders as assigned
- Assists in implementing and carrying out the preventative maintenance programs established at assigned resort property
- Responds to work tickets and perform repairs in the resort rooms
- Assists in maintaining the building exterior and curb appeal including painting and assisting groundskeepers with landscaping projects
- Interacts with and assists guests to provide a quality guest experience at the resort
- Performs pre-check-in inspections of rooms to ensure that all systems are in working condition for guest arrival
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Accountable to achieve minimum guest satisfaction levels per the submitted comment cards
Additional duties may be assigned relevant to the position at the discretion of the Chief Engineer or site supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical areas; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. CPO license or ability to become certified (Continuing Education program).
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of the materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings
- Working independently and following through with assignments with minimal supervision
- Reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing, and coordinating
- Multi-task while working with tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on the functional area of the assignment, tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work and may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects or materials (up to 80 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or the use of proper techniques and moving equipment.
