Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Overview
Responsible for assisting with the scheduling, staffing, and operational aspects of the CT section in the department. Performs CT exams and provides guidance to CT technological staff in order to ensure a high quality of work. Assist in the orientation and training of newly hired CT staff. Utilizes a variety of equipment including the CT scanners, power injectors, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases. Contributes to the overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skill.
