CAT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and answers patient questions. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The CT Technologist shall perform radiological and computerized tomography procedures under the supervison of the Radiologist. Responsible for supervising students during clinical rotations.
Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of DRMC.
Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and DRMC.
Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action.
Must participate in safety instructional programs.

Education: Knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology as normally acquired through completion of two years post high school training in an approved school of radiological technology preferred
Experience: Must have at least one year clinical experience in a hospital and /or one year experience as a radiological staff technologist and be familiar with all aspects of radiological procedures with training in computerized tomography.
Licenses/Certificates: ARRT and CPR Certified preferred.
