Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Entry level AutoCAD design drafter to support engineering staff and current client project demands. Facility Planning Services provides industrial planning to clients with manufacturing, distribution, and repair/maintenance operations.
Applicants must be proficient using AutoCAD and familiar with MS outlook, word, and excel. CAD activities will include editing and maintaining equipment plan view drawings and equipment layout drawings. Understanding of CAD standards related to architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines is a plus.
