CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Primary Purpose and Function
The CAD Designer will create 3D models, prepare design drawings and details from sketches, concepts or mark-ups provided by customers, engineering or project management staff. The position will require you to work with the CAD Manager, Project Managers and Project Engineers to manage and create all drafted documentation associated with projects. The documentation will primarily be created using Advance Steel and/or Tekla Structures, and the scope of the job will span to all elements of the project life cycle inclusive of gathering project requirements, preliminary and final designs.
