  • We are seeking a Buyer who will plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. He/she will obtain materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels, resolve discrepancies, and create and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems. The buyer will also be responsible for ensuring material standards are met, monitor cost/delivery performance to asure best quality at best value, and evaluate supplier reliability and long-term value. 

     

    Additionally, he/she will learn to use professional concepts, apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues following provided work instructions, and support improvement initiatives while resolving issues based on guidance and direction from experienced co-workers and leadership.

     

     

    What To Expect: 

    • Responsible for planning requirements and supplier chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs. 
    • Executing, tracking, and expediting purchase orders to meet production requirements.
    • Provide support and guidance on exceptions for transactional activities.
    • Support supplier onboarding.
    • Participate in local cross functional project teams.
    • Perform basic sourcing analysis (e.g., Spend, Business Award scenarios).
    • Support resolution of supplier delivery or quality issues.
    • Participate in supplier agreement negotiations for site specific suppliers, including pricing and terms.
    • Conduct local supplier reviews.
    • Monitor adherence to contract terms.
    • Participate and support the implementation of the Operations Risk Management Program (ORM).
    • Actively support efforts to streamline activities within the department, support Value Improvement Projects and process improvement initiatives. 

     

     

    What We Expect: 

    • Bachelor's Degree, May have Master’s Degree   
    • 0-2 Years of Experience
    • Experience with Oracle ERP system or Agile Product Lifecycle Management System is beneficial. 
    • Experience in an FDA approved Medical Device environment is beneficial.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

     

     

    Desired skills: 

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Understanding of MRP Demand Planning, MPS, capacity planning and production control
    • High level of attention to detail and focus on quality. 
    • Ability to read, understand and follow all written procedures.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
    • APICS, CPIM, CPSM, CPM or PMP Certifications is beneficial.
    • Sourcing experience in assigned buy category is beneficial.

    The annualized base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $78,100 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
