    Occupational Summary:

    This position supports department and company's financial goals, including manufacturing productivity, material cost, and product quality. Develops and maintains strategic supplier relationships. Works closely with support groups to improve cost, quality, delivery and other key performance metrics. Reviews and coordinates complex, one-time, and simple multi-term purchase requests in accordance with NHBB policies. Independently manages site level projects.

    Essential Functions:

    • Reviews, approves, and processes purchasing requests such as purchase requisitions and purchase orders for goods or services to ensure compliance with NHBB purchasing procedures, stakeholder requirements, and applicable governance.
    • Prepares all aspects of simple bids, requests for quotes, and proposals, including precise specifications, supporting documentation, proposal analysis, recommendations, and justifications.
    • Negotiates purchase agreements within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
    • Provides liaison services between suppliers and departments for order status, procurement procedures, and problem resolution.
    • Participates in the root cause investigation of defective supplied material, internal and external communication of findings and the development of corrective actions.
    • Maintains data information, files, reports, price lists on assigned commodities; negotiates prices and terms.
    • Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines.
    • May expedite shipping and deliveries, maintain inventories, and monitor usage inconsistencies, price changes, and vendor back orders.
    • May validate, reconcile, and process receiving reports, vendor invoices, and other payment documents.
    • May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work.

    Requirements:

    Education:

    • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business or related Science degree or equivalent Supply Chain experience

    Experience:

    • 3–5 years Purchasing experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment preferred.

    Job Skills/Abilities:

    • Proficient with Microsoft office Products (PowerPoint/Word/Excel).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities.
    • Must be organized, resourceful, self-motivated and able to work independently.

    Other Requirements:

    Must be able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization.

    All positions require successful completion of a pre-hire drug screen and background check.
