    This role will cover Northern Ohio; Toledo, Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Canton, Mansfield, etc.

    Position Summary

    As the Business Development Manager, you will positively represent the Credit Union in the community while driving growth of credit union members and, products and services. This role is responsible for development of new geographic areas and growth of product and services for both consumers and businesses. Expansion of accounts, loans and services for cannabis related businesses (CRB) owners and employees is a focus. Responsible for identifying opportunities, cross sell and make referrals for consumer accounts and loans, mortgages, home equity, business accounts and loans, cash management services and other offerings. Demonstration of a clear understanding of our business customer base and current expansion strategies is necessary to best identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability. Provide support and collaborate with the VP Business Development to grow and service cannabis related businesses (CRB) and other businesses, owners and employees.

    Essential Duties:

    • Display an in-depth understanding and be able to clearly articulate the credit union’s offerings, positioning and competitive advantage; following established business plan, sales process, and strategy for the market to ensure the attainment of goals.
    • Collaborate and assist the VP of Business Development to ensure a positive business member onboarding and servicing experience.
    • Collaborate with other sales team members to share ideas, best practices, plan and execute organizational goals.
    • Create additional opportunities through a high volume of outbound phone calls and in-person visits.
    • Create strong relationships with centers of influence including CPAs, attorneys, realtors, brokers and others to drive referrals and volume for all credit union offerings.
    • Monitors member preferences and requests for products and services and collaborates with departments to ensure solutions and member satisfaction.
    • Participate in sales networking activities and events with chambers of commerce, trade groups, CPAs, attorneys and other centers of influence.
    • Utilize tools, data analytics and reports to identify areas of opportunities in new markets.
    • Plan and execute sales activities to achieve outcomes. Record details of sales activities, including, calls, visits, referrals and outcomes.
    • Attainment of sales goals.
    • Maintain knowledge of consumer and business lending regulations and CCCU's Policies and Guidelines to ensure compliance with NCUA and all other legal requirements and regulations.
    • Collaborate with Member Center Managers and other internal teams to identify new business opportunities and service existing members.
    • Meet independently, at businesses members’ places of business to learn about their industry, identify business, owner and employee needs, and provide proposals for appropriate solutions.
    • Maintain a knowledge of competitors’ cannabis related products, services and pricing. Make recommendations based on findings and feedback from members and prospects.
    • Adhere to all service level standards for returned phone calls and communications. Accuracy and professionalism in all correspondence is paramount.
    • Stay informed and adjust to changes of all compliance and regulatory requirements associated with the business account and cannabis related products and services.
    • Foster an environment that creates strong business member relationships and work closely with the entire business services team
    • Participate in member functions and represent the credit union at trade associations, municipality groups, non-profit, community organizations and credit union and member events.
    • Assist in the annual review of CRB accounts.

    Education

    Bachelor’s Degree – Required

    Certified Cannabis Banking Professional – Preferred

    Experience

    4-5 years of successful Sales experience, preferably selling to small-to-medium businesses

    Experience with cannabis focused products.
    Proven track record for meeting sales quota in a broad, diverse, and complex market.
    Self-motivated and comfortable working with little to know direction.
    Thorough knowledge of the financial industry.
    Understanding of State and Federal business lending regulations.
    Thorough understanding of financial data.
    Knowledge of business loan documentation, appraisal analysis, etc. normally acquired through specialized education or experience.

    Demonstrated high level of initiative.
    High level or analytical skills.
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc).
