AUTOMATION BUSINESS ANALYST

  • Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an Automation Business Analyst for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in the USA. Our client is a global engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company with a more than 100-year track record of innovation in sustainable infrastructure. They offer various services across various industries, including energy, water, telecommunications, government, and environmental markets. Their services include engineering, procurement, construction, consulting, and sustainability solutions. The client is known for its expertise in critical infrastructure projects, particularly energy and water. They work on projects related to power generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, water and wastewater treatment, telecommunications, and more. Its services include design-build, program management, civil works, infrastructure development, site evaluation, etc. The company operates globally, with offices and projects in over 100 countries, and has a significant presence in regions such as North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. The Automation Business Analyst will be part of the digital enablement office, dedicated to the Business Optimization Team and automation/optimization projects while maintaining a dotted line to the Business Relationship Team and BA Leader. This multifaceted role combines working with varying business customers, IT support functions (Applications, Infrastructure, Security, Services), and external vendor/delivery teams.
    Requirements:
    • Expertise in gaining the trust of business partners and being a conduit for engagement. We’re looking for someone beyond a transactional level.
    • 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst. It includes developing business requirements for process transformation projects across multiple business units at the enterprise level.
    • 3 years of experience facilitating meetings and driving collaboration/agreements with business leaders/stakeholders around process standardization and automation potential/roadmaps.
    • 5 years of experience in understanding workflow-based logic and the ability to illustrate a documented process description as a workflow diagram.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including MS Visio and other flow-charting tools.
    • Understanding of developing business cases; participated in/led at least 5 full lifecycle automation and/or process transformation projects.
    • Proficiency in managing change, ambiguity, and complexity with ease.
    • Experience with and liaising between the business area/market sector and technical professionals through which business requirements for automation use cases can be generated.
    • Experience working with global and virtual teams.
    • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently and efficiently.
    • Keen analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to present business requirements to technical and non-technical audiences and prepare clear and concise written/digital documentation.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities and efficiently working to prioritize the requests from stakeholders.
    • Strong interpersonal, presentation, written communication, and facilitation skills.
    Responsibilities:
    • The Primary Functions:
    • Educate the customers on the technology capabilities for all engagements (and primarily while discussing their processes - the art of possible).
    • Develop business requirements for automation opportunities/solutions through collaboration and thorough analysis with core stakeholders.
    • Conduct/lead meetings for identifying/vetting/qualifying use cases.
    • Discuss or show the business the art of what’s possible during process discussions.
    • Facilitate the assessment of efficiency & value in use cases.
    • Partner with the business stakeholders on approved opportunities.
    • Support the BOT technical manager and other digital office transformation projects in designing and testing solutions to address specific project business requirements.
    • Core Competencies:
    • Prepare materials and lead meetings with representatives from various business units and back office functions (HR, IT, Finance, etc.) to discuss use cases, document business requirements, map the current state of business processes and metrics, and develop value estimates for BOT use cases. This includes all artifacts needed to support these functions (PDDs, process maps, etc.).
    • Drive the assessment of specific automation and process use cases, garner agreements around process standardization, and develop a process change implementation roadmap around the particular use case(s). This includes assessing enterprise potential and scalability of use cases and solutions for maximum value impact.
    • Collaborate on and review project/delivery plans with the program manager and the project management functions to ensure that business requirements are met.
    • Partner with business stakeholders and BOT Leader to prioritize automation use cases and maintain the automation opportunity pipeline.
    • Drive the adoption of best practices around the business analysis and opportunity qualification approaches.
    • Provide data to support the return-on-investment Evaluation of each business case submitted for automation, and support the BOT Leader in assessing each case.
    • Drive education of the BOT lifecycle and engagement model with the businesses to promote the automation process (intake, requirements, qualification, ROI analysis, development, delivery, support).
    • Financial acumen to facilitate the development and assessment of business case value.
    • Bring a ‘best practice’ approach to the work and the team, with an eye on optimizing operations, and advocate for digital work, digital workforces, and solutions.
    • Partner and synergize with the BRM team to ensure they’re apprised of the work and that the BAs leverage standardized frameworks and best practices from them where applicable.
    Will be a plus:
    • Experience with AI, ML, Document Automation, Process and Task Mining (Communications Mining is a big plus).
    • High-level understanding of some key process areas in the E&C industry (e.g., Bid, Design, Construction, Supply Chain, and back office functions such as Finance, HR, and IT).
    • Strong understanding/experience with the UiPath Platform.
