Business Process Optimization Director manages teams that study and develop optimization changes to an organization's business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability. Conducts research on best practices and industry trends for the business. Being a Business Process Optimization Director oversees the in-depth analysis of existing workflows. Utilizes flowcharts and process maps to define existing processes and identify areas needing improvement. Additionally, Business Process Optimization Director engages and organizes subject matter experts and cross-functional groups to collect inputs. Implements the tools required to collect and measure relevant data, identify key performance indicators (KPI), and produce a data-driven analysis of critical functions. Introduces new business processes to the organization and produces documentation, tools, and training to support adoption. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Process Optimization Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Process Optimization Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Located on the beautiful MS Gulf Coast Gulfport Behavioral Health System is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult, substance abuse, and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services.  The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for those seeking treatment for mental illness.

    Position Summary:

    The Director of Business Development serves as an essential member of the senior leadership team and responsible for directing the development and continuous refinement of the facility's business development plan. In consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and other senior management staff, this position designs, develops, implements and directs the business development strategic goals, philosophy, policies, procedures, and systems for the Business Development Department and the facility.

    Key Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Direct the development and continuous refinement of the facility's comprehensive business development plan, within the scope of the changing health care environment.
    • Consult with the CEO, and senior management staff, in overseeing, developing and implementing facility business development strategies.
    • Develop and   implement monthly,   seasonal   and   annual   strategies,   and   evaluates   results
    • Maintain a schedule of primary accounts including business, industry, EAPs, managed care clients,physicians/licensed practitioners, and allied health professionals
    • Maintain business development referral admission records and statistics, including the preparation of business development reports and materials.
    • Maintain and develop key business development accounts and respond to all business development opportunities
    • Prepares annual reports and budgeting reports for the facility.
    • Develop and implement community workshops and seminars, held at the facility or in the community.
    • Direct and coordinate all media relations functions.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health area, marketing, business administration or related field; Master's Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experience in a health care business development management position with extensive business development experience resulting in measurable results, and with direct experience developing managed care agreements (especially with capitation and at-risk areas.) In addition, detailed knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.

    Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.
