Description of Work | The IT Business Intelligence and Data Analyst I position serves as the technical role in assisting with a full cycle of Course Evaluation, Survey Administration, SDM data submissions, ad hoc reporting, data analysis, and visualization activities in fulfillment of the university's regulatory, accountability, compliance, and other public information obligations. This position works closely with university executives and various stakeholders to provide data-driven solutions and fulfill their analytics needs. |
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position | Familiarity working with Access and SQL data query skills and large inter-rational databases is plus. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software or other student information management systems Well-developed skills in at least one commonly used statistical software application such as SAS, R. Stata, or SPSS
Knowledge of Tableau or other visual analytics platforms. Ability to organize, collect, record and present data/information within defined research parameters. Ability to ensure quality control and summarize the data/information collected. Ability to carry out collection and screen under close supervision when atypical methods are used. Ability to compile and organize data/information from different sources to develop reports using established formats. |
Minimum Training and Experience | Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Statistics, or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; 2-3 years of experience in Institutional Research or business application consulting and development. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, information technology, or management information systems; or a master's degree in a non-technical field with two or more years of relevant work experience; Knowledge of and experience with Banner student data system, including the use of forms and creation of views. |
