Summary of role:
The BI Analyst combines mathematical, statistical, analytical and data mining expertise, knowledge of the financial industry, and programming skills to research, collect, analyze and interpret large data sets from internal and external sources to develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges. Integrates and prepares large, varied data sets, architects specialized data and computing environments and communicates results in a way that can be easily understood by business counterparts.
Primary responsibilities will include:
·Lead stakeholder discovery processes to determine business requirements and analysis outcomes, collaborating for strategic decision support.
· Identify appropriate analytical approaches, computing techniques, and data sources to deliver required information.
· Coordinate data from third-party vendor Journey Technology, balancing external expertise with in-house development.
· Administer and manage databases, serves as a data steward to ensure data quality and troubleshoot anomalies.
· Design processes and procedures to utilize and overcome data barriers, coordinating new data implementations.
· Extract and analyze data from core database systems for visualization reports and dashboards using Microsoft Office and Fiserv Business Analytics software.
· Maintain detailed documentation and support for data reporting processes, continually researching and implementing improvements in business intelligence infrastructure in collaboration with the IT department.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· BA/BS in accounting, finance, mathematics, or statistics; MBA preferred.
· Three to five years of previous work experience in analytics and modeling environments in the finance industry.
· Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex data to a diverse audience.
· Familiarity with financial institution policies and Fiserv preferred; expereince with BI tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
