Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. The Relationship Manager builds and maintains a working relationship between the business operations partners and information technology. The RM provides guidance and advice, building rapport, and trust. The RM provides quick responses to inquiries and performs research and analysis as asked working on behalf of both groups. The role of the Relationship Manager is critical to ensuring alignment and understanding is achieved. This role is an extension of the CIO/IT Organization, acting as liaison and bridges and facilitates communication and understanding between the business and IT. The RM is responsible for understanding the overarching business model as well as the intricacies and nuances of the business areas.
