Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • The Business Development Support Coordinator will drive business development initiatives for the growth and betterment of the company. The role will assist sales, supply chain and quality departments in providing technical support in existing and new business. The role will provide support internally on existing and new processes/products and externally in managing existing and new customers and vendors, organization and KPI efforts across different departments to increase visibility and tracking of key processes. Lastly, the role will be dedicated to research and development on the pet food market and new opportunities for the business to grow.

    Specific Tasks such as:

    • Assist in new product development initiatives, such as proprietary blends with existing customers.
    • Be the go-to person for all technical sales documentation and tracking. Your job will be to deliver specs, track what specs were given and track & organize all the above.
    • Conduct market, nutritional and technical projects assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer.
    • Follow up on all outbound samples to ensure the process is seen to completion.
    • Business development projects and initiatives internally with particular focuses on data aggregation, continuous improvement, and new product development.
    • Business development projects and initiatives externally with particular focuses on research and development, developing new marketing initiatives based on nutritional developments and finding new customers and avenues for growth.
    • Understand NORPEL HACCP programs, food safety validations and verifications.
    • 3rd party lab analysis tracking and Non-Conformance tracking
    • Review and complete annual food safety questionnaires and documentation requests.
    • Complete reports on all matters pertaining to quality issues and standards.
    • Monitor key performance indexes (KPI’s) on Norpel products in relation to customer standards.
    • Apply knowledge of customer expectations, regulatory requirements, Food Safety / Quality standards and serve as a technical resource to Manufacturing, Sales, R&D, and Logistics (e.g., assists with decision-making, assessing risk, troubleshooting, problem solving, minor formula modifications, etc.).
    • Assist in customer management and communication on technical matters.
    • Assist in vendor management and communication on technical matters.
    • Becoming a leader on Monday.com, managing existing boards and processes as well as developing new boards and new avenues for innovation and automation via the platform.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Capable of keeping up with sample collection during the production cycle, and that input of data is done in a tedious manner
    • Ability to relay important quality data and/or facility issues without hesitation
    • Flexible schedule, as longer hours may be required during busier seasons.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
    • Good technical understanding of FDA/FSMA regulations.
    • Bilingual, Spanish preferred
