Business Development Manager, Sr. manages the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Coaches teams in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Manager, Sr. establishes team targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives. Develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Additionally, Business Development Manager, Sr. makes suggestions for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts.     Responsibilities

    The Role

    Outline and communicate sales targets, delegate tasks, and ensure that staff performance meets our standards of excellence.

    conduct regular and extensive research to consolidate and grow our spot in the market. Advise the sales team, set goals and give resources to the team to help them reach their goals and grow their book of business.

    Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To

     

    • Maintain a sound working knowledge of all markets and growing conditions.
    • Identify target area of market and business plans for acquisition of new business.
    • Promote performance and goals by setting an example of excellence, being accessible and creating a culture of teamwork and personal accountability.
    • Make presentations of profitable programs to potential and existing customers.
    • Work with other teams; buyers, operations, and sales support persons to communicate customer's needs and preferences.
    • Walk warehouse-checking product at least once a day.
    • All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality
    • Special projects as assigned by the General Manager or Executive Vice President.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Extensive knowledge of the Alaskan market.
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
    • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
    • Strong communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of management internally and externally.
    • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with the public and other personnel when performing your duties.
    • Ability to work independently and through others to drive results.
    • Adaptability/Flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.
    • Critical Thinking: Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
    • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as required.                                    
    • Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Safe driving record and proof of insurance.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and up to 50% travel.
