Business Development Manager manages the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Coaches teams in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Manager establishes team targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives. Develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Additionally, Business Development Manager makes suggestions for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts. May administer or negotiate new business proposals and prepare contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Role Summary:

    At Smartaira, we thrive when our people thrive. This position’s responsibility is to grow the company’s revenue through securing agreements for servicing multi-family and business to business clients. This process includes developing relationships with owners, property management companies, and developers. Internal cross department collaboration is required to increase subscriber based on a community basis. This role is one that is both challenging and rewarding, giving the successful candidate an opportunity to really develop an interesting career in business strategy, marketing, and sales. We rely on our associates for flexibility and foresight, while maintaining confidentiality related to high-level systems and operations.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develops market potential by leveraging existing accounts, create new leads and developing relationships with existing customers to generate more business opportunities.
    • Negotiates agreements with clients to subscribe to the company’s services.
    • Informs the customer on the latest broadband service offerings from the company.
    • Educates the customer about the latest broadband technology advances in the market relative to the company’s service.
    • Provides potential customers with a clear comparison of the company’s broadband service features and benefits versus the competition.
    • Qualifies new business opportunities and prepares a profitability case to senior management for every agreement to ensure that the company makes a profit on submitted proposals.
    • Promotes the company at industry conferences, trade shows and industry associations when requested.
    • Manages an account portfolio to maximize new property opportunities.
    • Maintain and grow ongoing relationships with owners, property management companies and developers.
    • Other directives as required.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • College degree preferred and minimum three years of business development sales experience. Real estate experience in commercial or multi-family sales or management will be considered a plus.
    • Exercise’s confidentiality in all areas of performance.
    • Interfaces effectively with each level of the organization in a professional manner and has ability to interact with all levels of management.
    • Anticipates problems and opportunities and provides options and resolutions.
    • Develops solutions with a sense of urgency.
    • Demonstrates effective MS Office skills, including Word for Windows skills; Excel skills (spreadsheets: creations and input); and Outlook skills.
    • Demonstrates effective customer relationship management software skills that includes Sales Force.
    • Able to perform in a fast paced rapidly changing environment and must have a high degree of adaptability, independence, and flexibility.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Exceptional telephone protocol and high degree of professionalism.
    • Energetic, upbeat, outgoing, organized and detail oriented with excellent follow through skills.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
    • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when required.
