Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     They need a Business Development Director to cover the Des Moines, IA area. Must be local to this area - this is a REMOTE position

    The Business Development Director is an individual contributor and is responsible for identifying potential business opportunities, developing relationships, and understanding the customer's critical business strategies within their given accounts then working with a team of subject matter experts to create and execute a solution to help achieve the customer's business objectives. 

     

     

    Qualifications: 

     

    ·       Must be currently located within the specified market as this is a hybrid role and the requirement is to be in the office when not in the field.

    ·       Minimum seven years of direct B2B sales experience calling on F500 companies - NO MORE THAN 3 JOBS IN THE PAST 10 YEARS. 

    ·       Clear history of new business development selling marketing solutions, or professional business services * Demonstrable sales success through prospecting and growing revenue in large accounts 

    ·       Large volume sales experience ($250k plus per sale) 

    ·       Experience with broad range of sales cycles (three to six to twelve months) 

    ·       Compensation derived through highly leveraged commissions and bonuses 

    ·       Four-year college degree is preferred 

    ·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products is required; Proficiency with web, SaaS, and mobile applications a plus

     

    Base Salary is $135K (non-negotiable) plus commissions. (175k -225k 1st year OTE)
