Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Business Development Director will focus on market development and growth through research, development and implementation of strategic plans, and analysis of progress, working collaboratively with all members of the project development group.

    Essential Duties:

    • Lead RFP/RFQ pursuits, proposals, and interviews.
    • Evaluate all opportunities to ensure resources are focused on the best opportunities and align with company strategy.
    • Assist with new marketing initiatives.
    • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
    • Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings and market conditions.
    • Oversight and mentoring of other Business Development team members.
    • Develops long-term client services management.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to initiate and develop personal and professional relationships in the industry.
    • Proven leadership skills used to identify key internal personnel and drive the pursuit efforts forward while maintaining the ultimate needs of the Owner.
    • Strong personal and company branding skills. Able to infuse and exude company values into personal brand and daily interactions.
    • Manages the ongoing sales process, develops relationships, manages the response to, and anticipates customer needs.
    • Utilize applicable sales tools effectively to plan and document progress as well as increase penetration of accounts.
    • Manage CRM & Ensures that all information is input and regularly updated.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred, but not required.
    • 10 years’ experience in business development or similar experience required.
    • At least 5 years of A/E/C experience strongly desired.
    • Proven industry leadership; recognized by internal and external peers.
    • Experienced team leader and excellent multi-tasking capabilities.
    • Experience with various CRM platforms and with researching new markets.
    • Able to travel up to 10%.
