Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Entrepreneur Development Student Intern will provide support to help strengthen and develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Wyoming. You will work closely with organizational leaders, Wyoming entrepreneurs and startups, and partners to design and coordinate efforts that foster a robust entrepreneurial system in Wyoming. In this role, you will assist with outreach, resource development, and identifying program enhancements while learning about Wyoming's entrepreneur network and partners.

The WBC is a small organization, and its size creates a rich environment for one to participate in many fields of economic development with many different audiences. As an intern with the Wyoming Business Council, not only will you support the team, but you will also bring an additional voice and perspective to Wyoming’s economic future.


    All internships are paid, year-round positions (May 2024 - May 2025). Hours are expected to be no more than 40 hours per week during the summer months and will scale back during the school year to no more than 15 hours per week. In the interest of building strong relationships, and developing a cohesive understanding of WBC's efforts, interns are expected to work in the Cheyenne office during the summer months. Remote work during the academic school year may be an option based on demonstrated performance. Interns working remotely should be prepared to work from home with a suitable internet connection.
