Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary: We are seeking to add an experienced Director of Business Development to our team. In this role, you will effectively and efficiently lead, manage, and hold accountable the business development team across all markets to their KPIs, utilize and improve key business development tools including Salesforce, and drive forward company growth both inside of primary Department of Labor target population and outside via expansion into new target populations such as VA, private pay, long term care insurance.

    Job Duties:
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives and growth targets both within the DOL program niche and outside of it.
    • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential threats. Use this information to inform decision-making and refine business development strategies.
    • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, pipeline referral partners (Authorized Representatives, IR doctors, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, etc), industry influencers, and potential collaborators. Leverage these relationships to generate business leads and drive revenue growth.
    • Sales Leadership: Lead and mentor the business development team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they meet and exceed sales targets. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the sales department. Proactively surface and share key information across departments including SEU and census progress to goal.
    • Sales & Marketing Tool Ownership: Drive efficient utilization of the key sales tools including Salesforce and Hubspot to support the team meeting or exceeding sales goals.
    • New Business Development: Drive the identification, pursuit, and acquisition of new business opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and new market expansion initiatives outside of the current core population including VA, private pay, LTC, IHSS, etc.
    • Proposal Development: Oversee the development of proposals, presentations, and pitches for potential clients and partners. Ensure that proposals are compelling, persuasive, and tailored to the specific needs of each prospect.
    • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients, partners, and vendors to secure favorable terms and agreements. Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure that contracts are compliant, equitable, and aligned with company objectives.
    • Revenue Forecasting: Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast future revenue streams and identify areas for growth. Develop revenue targets and track progress towards achieving them, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize performance.
    • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination of business development efforts across the organization.
    • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of business development initiatives. Regularly review and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to business development. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, workflows, and outcomes.
    • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, providing insights, updates, and recommendations on business development activities and outcomes.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to business development initiatives and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address issues as they arise to minimize negative impacts on business performance.
    • Budget Management: Develop and manage the business development budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives within budgetary constraints.
    • Representational Duties: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking functions to promote brand awareness, build relationships, and generate business opportunities.
    • Marketing Department Leadership & Management: Lead the marketing team to ensure marketing plan is successfully implemented with an emphasis on driving quality lead generation, tracking ROI across channels, and anticipating team needs for growth.
    Education and Experience Qualifications:
    • Software experience: Expertise with key software tools including MS365, Salesforce and Hubspot is highly important
    • Industry experience: Strong preference for home health care sales experience inside of DEEOIC/EEOICPA/RECA, VA, private pay, LTC insurance
    • Business Process Experience: EOS familiarity and/or similar business efficiency tools is optimal. High degree of organization and data-based sales leadership is required.
