    As a Director of Business Development in our Chapel Hill office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

    Responsibilities

    Here’s why we need you:

    Provide market-focused leadership for the AEI East Coast Process Engineering Practice.  As a seller you will exercise independent judgment to create and maintain client relationships that will develop business opportunities consistent with AEI’s strategic initiatives.  With your expertise, you will participate with our national Process practice group, and East Coast office leadership teams for strategic planning, and market development.  Your responsibility includes identifying project work opportunities, establishing and maintaining strategic relationships, and facilitating contacts and rapport with end-clients and partners. 

     

    • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with AEI Process Engineering leaders to develop and execute short- and long-term marketing plans for the Process Engineering market sector.
    • Develops both a personal and a corporate market presence through professional relationships and contributions in a variety of venues.
    • Understands the focused client communication process by participating in the completion of proposals, qualifications, etc. Contributes to ensure better communication and greater success rate.
    • Acts as a key point of contact with internal clients on all marketing issues and with external clients on the development of any marketing materials necessary to our joint success.
    • Supports interview teams by identifying team members, collaborating on strategy development and project approach, and facilitating the preparation and delivery of presentations.
    • Keeps abreast of broad market trends as well as specifics about clients’ businesses.
    • Interacts as a peer with key partners, and key market-focused personnel.
    • Contributes effectively to supporting market leaders across the AEI system by collaborating in developing strategy, documenting and sharing resources, contributing to company-wide business planning efforts, and pursuing projects. Freely shares lessons learned, knowledge about market trends, etc.
    • Proficient use of internal CRM tools to track and share within AEI public, private and governmental project leads and opportunities, contacts, decision makers, competitors, partners, as well as other relevant relationships and activities.

    Qualifications

    Expertise of our most successful Director of Business Development:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Marketing, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical or other related engineering or life science fields.
    • Five to ten years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or specialty chemical marketing or marketing-related role.
    • Proven leadership experience and skillset with the ability to gain the respect and support of leadership at all levels.
    • Strong skillset for development of proposals, presentations, interviewing, speaking at industry events, and other outward facing activities for exposure into the market.

    Effective skills to help you flourish:

    • Proven ability to establish strong, long-term strategic relationships with existing and new clients and partners. Ability to proactively engage and create new client relationships.
    • Proven ability for critical thinking and strategic planning for the growth of the AEI team and our client base.
