Business Development Director - Biotech jobs in Trenton, NJ

Position Overview:

As the Director of Research and Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company. You will lead a dedicated team of researchers and scientists to drive the continued development of our diagnostic products for the early detection of liver cancer. Additionally, you will oversee the early-stage development of anti-liver cancer drugs, with the aim of bringing innovative therapies to market.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the R&D department to develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy focused on liver cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.

Oversee the development and validation of diagnostic products for liver cancer detection.

Drive early-stage drug development efforts, from target identification to preclinical studies.

Collaborate across departments to support clinical and commercialization efforts to bring products to market.

Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, vendors, and external research organizations.

Ensure that research projects are conducted within budget and meet project milestones in a timely manner.

Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and scientific excellence within the R&D team.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology).

Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in R&D within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

Strong experience with the development of IVDs, including both molecular-based tests and immunoassays, taking products from concept to commercial launch. Specific experience developing products related to the treatment and management of liver cancer is highly desirable.

Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance with relevant ISO, GLP, and GMP regulations in the biotechnology sector.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Proven track record of successfully leading and managing R&D teams and projects.

Strategic thinker with a passion for making a meaningful impact in the field of liver cancer research.
