Oversees business development activities through subordinate managers. Being a Business Development Director - Biotech requires an MBA and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Business Development Director - Biotech relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.     As a Director of Business Development, you will drive business and act as a lead point for marketing and admissions strategies. Our ideal candidate will posses a clinical background or have strong clinical knowledge as well as sales and marketing expertise.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Develop, coordinate, and implement plans designed to increase existing relationships at hospitals, physician practices, specialty services, and managed care providers to foster a referral base.

    Manage and convert fast paced referrals by using clinical grid.

    Designs and develops strategic plans for their assigned regions

    Conduct 1:1 on contacts with potential referral sources, and develop positive relationships with referral sources

    Utilizes educational opportunities to present the hospital to referral sources

    Identifies, contacts, and manages potential referral sources

     

    Skills and Attributes:

    ·         Excellent negotiation skills.

    ·         Attention to detail

    ·         Excellent time management and organizational skills

    ·         Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and associated deadlines

    ·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

    ·         Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office suite.

    ·         Flexibility to adapt in a cross-functional and dynamic, “start-up” type environment

    ·         Travel is required

    Qualifications:

     Valid driver’s license

    ·         Minimum two (2) years of former healthcare sales experience strongly preferred

    ·         Formal sales training preferred

    ·         An Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, healthcare administration, nursing, another related field is preferred.
