Job Summary:
Diné Development Corporation (DDC), a Navajo Nation owned family of companies, is seeking an experienced Business Development/Capture Manager to join our dynamic Growth Team, offering exciting opportunities. This pivotal role will have a strategic impact on our expanding market presence within the Federal Civilian (FedCiv) sector. Beyond a diverse set of capture and business development skills, we are looking for an individual with comprehensive business acumen, technical understanding, resourcefulness, exceptional business relationships, and a keen grasp of business strategy to support the core Growth Team. Reporting to DDC's VP of Growth, FedCiv, this individual will collaborate closely with the team to achieve our objectives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expertise in all facets of business development, encompassing opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer engagement, relationship development, competitive positioning, pricing strategy, and teaming.
- Support Pipeline Development/Opportunity identification.
- Develop and implement an integrated business development, capture, and proposal strategy, emphasizing the organization’s value proposition.
- Take charge of solutions development, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, pricing strategy recommendations, and communication plans for assigned opportunities.
- Create and execute customer contact plans in collaboration with the organization’s leadership team, program managers, and other stakeholders.
- Effectively manage capture pursuits, ensuring adherence to cost and schedule, and provide regular status updates to leadership.
- Conduct research to determine optimal pricing and service offerings for bids.
- Support Business Development and/or Divisions in building and maintaining high-quality relationships with customers and partners.
- Shape opportunities and position DDC subsidiaries strategically throughout the opportunity life cycle.
- Support the proposal development process, including strategy, win themes, solutions, writing, schedules, staffing, pricing, past performance, resumes, and other proposal actions.
- Utilize BD market intelligence accounts and subscriptions, including GovWin, FPDS, USASpending, agency vendor portals, prime contractor vendor portals, and other systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):
- 8 years of experience in business development/capture, preferably in the Federal Civilian sector (e.g., Department of Labor, USDA, Commerce).
- Bachelor’s Degree or 15 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
- Demonstrated success in selling IT services to Federal Agencies, or similar roles such as a business development or capture manager specifically for IT services within Federal Agencies.
- Management capability across all aspects of the BD lifecycle.
- Experience and success leading customer engagements and strategic pursuits.
- Track record of building and growing revenue in accounts.
- Proven ability to expand into new Market/Account, preferably in FedCiv sector.
- Thorough understanding of complex Federal government procurement requirements and processes.
- Proven track record of developing key relationships with IT service partners.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and qualify prospective teaming partners successfully.
- Able to capture business successfully from new and vetted customers.
- Capable of managing/supporting full lifecycle capture management from opportunity identification through proposal execution.
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions in assessing business opportunities.
- Strong analytical presentation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience providing insight and contributing to writing winning proposals and responses to Federal Task Orders, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and Sources Sought.
- Awareness of information technology trends and their application to the Federal Government (e.g., cloud, BI, Data Analytics).
- Ability to evaluate company past performance and subcontractor past performance to maximize award potential.
- Strong organizational and project management skills (PMP preferred but not required).
- Ability to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to gain internal support and establish solid working/collaborative relationships with technical staff, managers, peers, and other internal stakeholders across the organization.
- Experience in creating, editing, and providing inputs for proposal content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
