Data Migration - Business Analyst
Onit – Pune, Maharashtra
Onit is currently hiring a Business Analyst to join Onit’s Migration team. This person will be responsible for collaborating with business, project management, and technical teams to conduct business and data analysis to drive Professional Services implementations to execution. Primary responsibilities for this role will include providing business expertise across migration project implementations, advising customers on how their legacy data will be transformed in Onit, and documenting current state and future state business and functional requirements.
Role and Responsibilities- Understand the legacy data given by clients. Data will be in the form of client’s legacy application database backup files (PostgreSQL , MS SQL, Oracle, etc), Excel, text or CSV.
- Define mappings between client’s legacy data and fields within Onit.
- Help in troubleshooting issues during data validation and post data migration activities both in test and production environments.
- Provide technical and functional expertise to customers during the implementation process.
- Provide functional guidance and mentoring to other members of the team.
- Forge strong partnerships with customers and colleagues.
- Provide strong technical understanding of Onit products with the ability to discuss and demonstrate the full platform and how it may be configured to meet a client’s business needs.
- Assist with developing, documenting and communicating business and technical requirements, process flows, designs and implementation notes for technology future state.
- Create and/or improve implementation templates supporting requirements gathering, design and training.
- Follow implementation methodology for all customers and tailor to meet each project’s unique business needs.
- Share relevant prior experiences and best practices with customers and colleagues.
- Work well in both individual and team settings both on and off client site.
- Triage and troubleshoot client tickets to ensure timely response/resolution, support communication with all relevant parties.
- Test existing or new features, components, and processes prior to releasing functionality to clients throughout the SDLC.
- Assist with development of test cases and test plans.
- Identify requirement or design risks, analyze data completeness, quality and accuracy, provide data mapping guidance, performing ad hoc Analysis to support the project as needed.
- Collaboration with key stakeholders
- Must be a self-starter and be able to drive projects to completion under tight timelines and competing priorities.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in analytics and systems development.
- Proficient with SQL and fundamental relational database concepts.
- Knowledge on ETL framework and should have worked with ETL tools.
- Experience with creating data and process flow diagrams with attention to details.
- Ability to breakdown complex business process concepts into integral components.
- Data analysis and data modeling skills via the use of Excel or other tools.
- Determination in pursuit of process details and engaging relevant contacts to help to get answers.
- Ability to see the big picture and zoom in on the relevant details is a plus.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Given the emphasis on collaboration across and within groups, there is a focus on “soft” skills including:
- Strong relationship management skills with experience delivering against projects involving multiple, distributed execution teams and user groups.
- Effective team player.
- Driven and self-directed.
- Organized with a high attention to detail
- Having worked on migrating application data from one application to the other would-be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s Degree would be a plus.
