The PowerBI Analyst is responsible for preparing, manipulating, and staging data from various data sources in preparation for loading into PowerBI environments. Experience/familiarity with configuring and using PowerBI or other business analytics dashboards and or using other Microsoft BI technologies such as SQL.
Responsibilities:
- Translate business needs to technical specifications
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, and work to gain in-depth understanding of agency processes and procedures
- Act as primary analyst and work with Client staff to translate business needs into clearly defined, well-documented, high-quality requirements, functional designs, and system supplemental specifications
- Develop sound methods to transform data from various data sources into viable formats for ingestion to Power BI environments
- Assists in designing, building, publishing, and scheduling PowerBI report solutions
- Assists with maintaining and supporting data analytics platforms
- Assists with creating tools to storing data
- Assists with conducting unit testing and troubleshooting
- Assists with evaluating and improving existing PowerBI systems
- Assists with collaborating with teams to integrate systems
- Assists with creating visualizations and reports for requested projects
- Assists with developing and updating technical documentation
- Assists with providing monthly administrative reporting on project duration, update the project percent complete, and estimated hours spent toward each project
- Assist with providing technical support and answer questions from Client staff about specific PowerBI needs
- Follows quality assurance and control processes, and performs routine data management tasks, such as data validation and correction, queries and editing to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
- Assists with Troubleshooting and supporting Client’s PowerBI software users
- Communicate with technical and non-technical staff in writing and orally
- Ability to work as a member of a team or independently with minimal supervision, depending on project
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, or related degree preferred
- 5 years of experience using Excel, VBA, Power Query or other data modeling tool
- 5 years of Excel/Data Modeling/Data Transformation: 5 years
- Familiar with PowerBI Administration, such as gateways, user/report access, workspaces
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Windows
- Familiar with SQL language preferred
- Experience working in remotely, in a subcontractor format
Preferred
- 2 years of experience using PowerBI
- SQL: 2 years

Pay Rate: $35-$45 an hour
