Business Continuity Manager jobs in Indiana

IT Business Continuity Administrator is responsible for managing the IT business continuity and IT disaster recovery plans and processes for Purdue University in under the direction of the IT Business Continuity Director. In collaboration with leadership, this position assists in defining how IT operations should function under abnormal circumstances during a disaster or emergency. This position will assist with coordination and implementation of the IT disaster recovery plan to get applications and systems back to normal when a disaster or emergency occurs. Works with Director and other IT leadership to assist in identifying risk, recommendations, and implement procedures to limit operational downtime and abnormal or inefficient system function. Work with Director to manage sub-contractors, FEMA compliance, scheduling, and equipment logistics. You will be working to manage plans, audits, ISO 22301, FEMA compliance, and scheduling.

This is a hybrid position where you will work most days on the beautiful West Lafayette campus and 1-2 days remotely.

This position does have a target salary of $52,200 - $61,700 commensurate with education and experience.

Education and Experience Needed

• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, IT or related field
• Four (4) years of experience in related to disaster recovery, business continuity, IT project management, risk management/analysis, or related
• A combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted

Preferred:

• FEMA Continuity Practitioner Certification, Level I (Professional) or Level II (Master)
• Familiarity with Business Continuity standards and industry best practices such as ISO 22301, BCI’s Good Practice Guidelines or DRI
• Familiar with FEMA Continuity Operations (IS-1300), FEMA Emergency Planning (IS-235c) and Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) standards

Skills Needed:

• Working knowledge and understanding of IT Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery planning techniques and technologies
• Working knowledge of methods used to perform risk analyses and business impact analyses
• Polished written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences
• Ability to:
  • productively contribute to cross-functional teams
  • utilize continuous monitoring skills and data to identify areas of high risk and substantial business impact
  • analyze a situation when limited information exists
  • influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
• Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects
• Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components
• Demonstrated ability to understand, perform, and prepare continuity and disaster analysis and present data according to user requirements.
• Demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and utilization of continuous monitoring processes/technologies
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and customer service skills
Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes
