Business Application Delivery Director directs and leads an organization's business application delivery department. Improves operational processes and supports critical business strategies by directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems. Being a Business Application Delivery Director enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Formulates business application architecture plans, estimates costs, and ensures projects meet strategic needs. Additionally, Business Application Delivery Director establishes policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and support efficient operations. Leads and develops a team of business application delivery programmers with training in the best practices and technologies. Uses knowledge of the field to keep the department's software, techniques, and tools up to date. Manages resource planning and decision-making. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior/top management. The Business Application Delivery Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Application Delivery Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description

    The Position

    Renesas is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic technical leader to fill the role of Director of Worldwide Systems and Applications Engineering for the Performance Core product line.  The Performance Core product line, part of the Performance Computing Power (PCP) division, develops high‑performance digital multiphase voltage regulators for the AI, server, cloud infrastructure, networking, telecom, computing and graphics markets.

    This newly created position provides a unique opportunity to shape the systems and applications engineering organization and establish the benchmark for the PCP division.  This role will be responsible for leading a diverse team of engineering professionals located across the US and Asia.  The mission is to create a best‑in‑class systems and applications engineering organization, recognized for engineering rigor, product quality and technical support.

    This position is located in Austin, Texas.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Lead, mentor, develop and grow a diverse team of systems and applications engineering experts worldwide.
    • Build a high-performing engineering organization by attracting and retaining top technical talent, fostering individualized technical career development, and nurturing future leaders.
    • Streamline and continuously optimize the applications engineering role to drive accountability and results.
    • Own product validation at the system and application level.  This includes developing best-in-class processes, procedures, and automation tools to improve customer experience and accelerate time-to-market.  Collaborate with the product validation team to ensure best-in-class quality.
    • Establish best-practices for the development of superior product collaterals, such as product datasheets, application notes, design guidelines, product errata documents, simulation models among others to ensure robust implementation of our products in customer systems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, systems, software, test engineering and project management to define, design, and develop world-class products and solutions.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the new product development engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Stay abreast of technology trends in the cloud infrastructure market.  Understand customer roadmaps, technology trends and future needs.  Develop recommendations and competitive features to keep our products and solutions at the cutting edge through continuous improvement.
    • Establish and foster relationships with technical leaders across the company, to exchange best practices and leverage existing capabilities within Renesas to improve our applications engineering operations.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • BSEE or related fields with 15 years of experience in design, systems or applications engineering.  MSEE is a plus.
    • Solid understanding of power management applications and products.  Experience in data center, servers, telecom, networking and/or computing markets.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.  Strong ability to make data-driven decisions and effectively use key performance indicators to measure success.
    • High energy, self-motivated, and go-getter attitude, with a bias towards action.
    • Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be personable and drive process and organizational changes.  Experience with managing change that resulted in positive outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.  Ability to present complex concepts in a clear, concise and effective way.
    • Ability to collaborate and be effective in a fast-paced environment.
