Business Analytics Manager manages and oversees business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. Utilizes KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making. Being a Business Analytics Manager consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support. Develops standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines. Additionally, Business Analytics Manager builds teams with statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis skills to support the business. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or a quantitative field. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Analytics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Analytics Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description:

    This role is a primary resource to the Fleet Operations team in developing data-drive decisions that will optimize operations and reduce operating costs. Serving as the lead resource for data analytics and all executive reporting for the Fleet Operations team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data models, transforming data, and enabling advanced analytics, reporting, and dashboards that provide insights into existing operations. You will work closely with Customer Success and Support, Engineering and Maintenance, and Energy teams to deliver data analytics, automation and process improvements that support the operations team.

    Responsibilities
    • Manage data preparation for analytic efforts by integrating and merging information from multiple data sources
    • Support the operations team in the analysis of data to evaluate operational performance and provide feedback
    • Develop automation that accelerates reporting and creates efficiencies
    • Create and maintain key dashboards using internal and external data to help drive business decisions
    • Setup and maintain reporting, analytics tools and visualizations in line with Fleet Operations needs
    • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques that guide strategic decisions
    • Support the operations team with tracking of operational and financial KPIs and budget and forecasting exercises
    • Drive process improvements by actively identifying opportunities through data analytics and data management
    • Work closely with Commercial teams to develop automated reports for existing grant and rebate programs   
    • Create and maintain master data maps that identify domain attributes, location of data, flow of data across different platforms, and other data demographic points that are used cross-functionally
    • Document and maintain the structure of operations business data to serve as a guide in execution of tasks
    • Create executive reports and slide decks for quarterly business reviews and board meetings
    • Work closely with Highland’s charge management platform to establish reports and notifications consistent with Fleet Operations needs 


    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 3 years of work experience in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field focused on analysis and planning
    • 2 years of cross-functional project management or people management
    • Demonstrated skills in data analysis and project management with strong attention to detail
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Advanced proficiency with analytical software (ex: R, SPSS), data visualization platforms and reporting tools (ex: Tableau, DOMO, Power BI)
    • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint 
    • Data driven approach to problem solving
    • Confident, high energy, self-motivated and a team player
    • Ability to operate in a fast paced, innovative, dynamic team
    • Ability to collaborate across departments within the company and external third parties using strong interpersonal and communication skills
