Business Analytics Manager manages and oversees business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. Utilizes KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making. Being a Business Analytics Manager consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support. Develops standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines. Additionally, Business Analytics Manager builds teams with statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis skills to support the business. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or a quantitative field. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Analytics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. You will be responsible for supporting cross-department initiatives across Product Management and along with supporting initiatives cross functionally across the business. About the Team
The team works on Vega for libraries. The technology stack is SaaS, and primarily AWS. Internally the team works with Executives and Senior leadership throughout the company. You also get the opportunity to work with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations and Support Services. Integration teams are also a key stakeholder. Externally the team works with leaders of public libraires. They could be Directors, or owners of various projects. The size of the projects range. You work with a portfolio of solutions that are recently developed. The team just launched one product. Another product is being launched in the fall, and two additional products will be released next year. Majority of the time you will work Product Management (work to define the problems), and Engineering (figures out how to solve the problems). The team is responsible for revenue and margins. The team juggles a lot of priorities. And have a lot thrown at them in all different directions.
