Business Analytics Manager manages and oversees business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. Utilizes KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making. Being a Business Analytics Manager consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support. Develops standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines. Additionally, Business Analytics Manager builds teams with statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis skills to support the business. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or a quantitative field. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Analytics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Analytics Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What will you be doing in this role?

    • Identifies and coordinates the interdependencies among programs, products and other critical initiatives for the Public Library Product team.
    • Manages and collaborates on key initiatives with stakeholders and product leadership across business functions (product, engineering, design, marketing business operations, support and services) to drive accountability and ensuring all program objectives are met.
    • Refines and optimizes processes, providing insights and suggestions to improve overall efficiency and execution of the department.
    • Ensures that each team has what they need, collaboration takes place, and makes the communication process easier.
    • Communicates successfully within the project team and with PLT (Product Leadership Team).
    • Develops and presents on a regular cadence executive dashboards regarindg projects, issues and risks of assigned projects.
    • Builds trust with and successfully manages relationships with all stakeholders direct stakeholders
    • Outlines success criteria/metrics and manages projects to successful conclusion. Measures and reports on project progress using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Coordinates internal resources and as needed, third parties to ensure flawless execution of projects.
    • Performs risk assessment and management to minimize project challenges.
    • Reports and escalates to management as needed.
    • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.

    About the Team

    The team works on Vega for libraries. The technology stack is SaaS, and primarily AWS. Internally the team works with Executives and Senior leadership throughout the company. You also get the opportunity to work with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations and Support Services. Integration teams are also a key stakeholder. Externally the team works with leaders of public libraires. They could be Directors, or owners of various projects. The size of the projects range. You work with a portfolio of solutions that are recently developed. The team just launched one product. Another product is being launched in the fall, and two additional products will be released next year. Majority of the time you will work Product Management (work to define the problems), and Engineering (figures out how to solve the problems). The team is responsible for revenue and margins. The team juggles a lot of priorities. And have a lot thrown at them in all different directions.

    Hours of Work

    • Full time, permanent
    • Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours may be required
    • This is a hybrid position (2-3 days a week in the office)
    • Up to 10% travel is required
