    Responsibilities:

    • Safe Transportation: Safely operate a school bus while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
    • Student Welfare: Ensure the well-being of students during transportation, maintaining a positive and respectful environment.
    • Route Management: Follow assigned routes and schedules, making necessary adjustments when required.
    • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
    • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and transportation department personnel.
    • Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to handle emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid if necessary.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
    • Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations governing school bus operations.

    Qualifications:

    • Ohio CDL with School Bus Endorsement: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement in the state of Ohio.
    • Clean Driving Record: Demonstrate a safe and responsible driving history.
    • Physical Fitness: Ability to pass required physical examinations and screenings.
    • Background Check: Successfully complete a thorough background check, including criminal history and driving record checks.
    • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience as a school bus driver is not required.
