    Purpose of Job
    • Responsible for oversight and supervision of the Student Accounts staff. Supports the Bursar/Student Accounts Manager in all departmental and college matters. Serves as a liaison to the Accounting Office on matters pertaining to student accounts and student cash receipts and disbursements.

    Experience Requirements
    • Minimum of three years functioning in Bursar/Student Accounts Office in higher education and or non-profit setting.

    • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports and discuss with a variety of audiences.

    Essential Job Functions
    • Assist the Bursar/Manager of Student Accounts in overall direction and supervision for the Bursar/Student Accounts Office as it relates to billing and collection of tuition and fees, disbursement of financial aid, processing refunds, development of policies and procedures and assist in overseeing the daily success in processing of third party invoicing.
    • Supervise and monitor the cash management processes campus wide to ensure proper internal controls are in place and used to collect and deposit all University cash receipts. Supervises and monitors activity of the cashiering process, ensuring details of financial transactions are recorded, research and resolve all payment transaction errors or issues including credit cards, monitor counterfeit and forgery activities and provide direct supervision for the cashier personnel.
    • Perform activities essential to accounting functions such as accounts receivable and payables, payment handling procedures, posting and reconciling general ledgers accounts, preparing trial balance and consolidated reports, and third party/vendor refunds via accounts payable process.
    • Provide primary bookkeeping support; serve as support for departmental deposits. Perform reconciliations and detailed research to resolve discrepancies of internal and external payments.
    • Assist the accounting staff and Bursar/Manager of Student Accounts in making modifications to existing accounting practices.
    • Perform analysis of various student account processes by reviewing entries, verifying amounts and account balances, comparing and reconciling balances and differences.
    • Prepare a variety of accounting and financial reports. Review all financial transactions posted to assigned accounts by ensuring all activities are recorded, all adjustments are calculated, and corrections made.
    • Supervise and train subordinate personnel, determine work priorities and assign & review work.
    • Assist in monitoring the success of the college collections of outstanding students' receivables as well as departmental and external agencies accounts receivables.
    • Provide a consistent level of customer service relating to inquiries regarding payments, registration and billing transactions while adhering to all privacy rules including the campus provisions for FERPA.
    • Perform administrative duties such as staff supervision, monitoring and granting leave requests, personnel actions, and performance evaluations.
    • Serve a backup by performing tasks and responsibilities assigned to direct reports in their absence and other job-related duties as assigned.
    • Performs accounting functions such as year-end close transactions, schedules, reconciliations, and other assigned tasks.
    • Assist in internal and external departmental initiatives promotes campus growth and stability as well as other tasks that are deemed necessary for successful operations.
    • Contribute to PTC's overall success by performing additional duties as needed.
