Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.     General Purpose: Supervises the use of the Community Center on a given shift, and assists in the planning, organizing, and implementation of community recreation programs for seniors, adults, and youth, including cultural arts, physical activities, special interest classes and summer programs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    (A) Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent

    (B) One year related experience including building supervision; or

    (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience.

    (D) Considerable knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning and administration; Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community recreation program;

    (E) Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment; Skill in First Aid and CPR.(F) Ability to coordinate varied activities involved in a community recreation program; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

    Pay Rate: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

    Schedule: Wednesday 4:00-9:00pm, Every other Saturday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, rotating Sundays as needed.
