Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.   • POSITION SUMMARY

    The Coordinator of Buildings & Grounds oversees the management of the facility and grounds of FPC at the direction of the Director of Operations and the Finance and Facilities team. That includes ensuring that all facilities are available and prepared for use as scheduled and managing all vendors and ministry partners that provide services to maintain our facilities and grounds. The incumbent will also supervise security operations and the custodial and setup staff and provide or oversee maintenance repairs and perform other custodial duties as necessary for the operations of FPC.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The responsibilities listed below reflect the current concept for this position. As with all positions, the gifts and talents of the successful candidate will, to some degree, impact the final parameters of the job. All substantive changes will be reflected in the job description and be mutually agreed upon.

    1. Facility use and set-up responsibilities include:

    a. Supervises security operations including opening and closing of the facility and security checks.

    b. Ensures the proper set-up and tear down of rooms and equipment according to the requirements stated on the MyFPC calendar.

    c. Maintains all church facilities and equipment in a clean, usable, and secure condition.

    d. Assures that all fire, safety, and other government ordinances, rules, and regulations are followed in the operation and maintenance of church facilities and properties.

    e. Files in a timely manner all required reports about the operation of the church.

    f. Maintains the church grounds in a safe, clean, and attractive condition.

    g. Maintains the walkways and parking lots in a safe and usable condition.

    2. Responsibilities for facility maintenance and outside vendors include:

    a. Provides or oversees preventive maintenance for the facility, all equipment and infrastructure.

    b. Ensures basic repairs to plumbing, electrical and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, computer network wiring, and other equipment are done well.

    c. Performs and oversees basic carpentry, wall repair, and painting as needed.

    d. Ensures that roofs, rain gutters and drains are well maintained.

    e. Maintains an appropriate inventory of tools and expendable supplies.

    f. Provides effective operation and maintenance for all HVAC systems and electrical equipment.

    g. Determines which services should be contracted with vendors or done with volunteers and obtains bids, negotiates contracts, and monitor vendor performance.

    3. Overall responsibilities include:

    a. Provides directions for visitors and members of the church who need them regarding the location of activities.

    b. Provides instruction as needed about the proper use of equipment or environmental systems needed in the use of FPC facilities.

    c. Attends and provides necessary input for Staff Meetings and Finance and Facilities team meetings about facilities and grounds.

    d. Provides guidance to plans for the maintenance, repair, renovation, and replacement of facilities and equipment.

    e. Assists in preparing an annual budget with input for operations and maintenance.

    f. Provides emergency “on-call” services.

    g. Cooperates with the Director of Operations by performing other duties as requested.

    4. Supervision responsibilities include:

    a. Schedules and supervises all security, maintenance, and set-up personnel.

    b. Supervises and oversees all volunteers working on building and grounds projects.

    DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

    The successful candidate will have many of the attributes listed below but the depth of experience in each area will likely vary.

    · Has the ability to perform routine maintenance/repair tasks on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and the knowledge to decide when professionals should be called.

    · Has the ability to maintain the furnishings of church space so that they are safe and clean and the knowledge to determine when they need to be replaced.

    · Can read and understand monthly financial reports.

    · Can learn to manage the HVAC building automation system – CATNET.

    · Can proficiently use the Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    · Works collaboratively with other staff members, vendors, and ministry partners using our space.

    · Demonstrates supervisory, organizational, and administrative skills in guiding staff and volunteers on projects around the facility and grounds.

    · Has successfully completed high school or holds a GED, but some college or university experience is preferred.

    · Has a minimum of three years of experience in an equivalent position with a preference for employment at a church.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
