Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.   • PCSI is looking for a Roads and Grounds Supervisor for the base operations and maintenance contract on Fort Knox! The Roads and Grounds Supervisor coordinates employees performing grounds maintenance and road work on base and ensures quality of the work to prevent and solve problems with changes in road conditions.

    Benefits Include:

    • Base pay of $85,000-89,500, depending upon experience.
    • Annual bonus of up to 6%. 
    • 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays.
    • Medical, dental, vision, and other coverage: employer contribution offered to cover employee-only tier.
    • 401k plan with matching on contributions up to 6%.

    What You'll Do as Roads and Grounds Supervisor:

    • Plan and organize work requirements while factoring employee conflicts into the work schedule when work extends beyond the normal duty hours or as required on weekends.
    • Coordinates with appropriate agencies, departments and shops to determine and ensure the quality of work being performed, unusual problems encountered and estimates time until completion, and notify appropriate personnel.
    • Based on current and anticipated issues and trends, identify and analyze problems of significant factors, gather pertinent data, develop solutions, recommends and courses of actions for changes roads and cemetery work contingencies and/or policy and presents them with justification, formally or informally to the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager for consideration in contract planning.
    • Works closely with and in partnership the Representative that affects the requisition, procurement and testing of new equipment allocated for roads and cemetery maintenance.
    • Responsible for inventory, handling and storage, and movement of equipment between the facility work sites. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to establish goals, objectives, and set priorities for accomplishing overall organizational functions in the absence of executive guidance.
    • Coordinate heavy equipment operations to include road maintenance/repair and firebreaks.
    • Report significant issues in a timely manner to the Assistant Project Manager, HSE Manager, Quality Manager and Project Manager when required.
    • Tracking service orders for quality and completion.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain processes and systems that meet or exceed quality standards and are within budget.
    • Responsible for enforcing established safety program within applicable guidelines.
    • Responsible for ensuring that work requirements are accomplished to standards by within in the quality program standards to meet or exceed the customer expectations.
    • Responsible for monthly performance and work status in accordance with contract and company requirements.
    • At a minimum will conduct safety and quality assurance training on a weekly basis.
    • Responsible for reporting personnel accountability to the People Team.
    • Responsible for interviewing potential prospects, supervising, planning and performing on-the-job training of employees for roads/surface and cemetery operations.
    • Equitably distribute hours of employees, on weeks the weather or other events alters the workload.

    What You'll Need to Be Successful:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a manager/supervisor, with five (5) years of management experience in roads and grounds operations.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must possess the ability to develop positive working relationships with the customer and its partners, subcontractors, staff, and workforce.
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to coordinate, develop and conduct training within the guidance of safety and quality program.
    • Must possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to read, interpret maps and develop statistical reports and calculations.
    • Must be able to prepare cost estimates in support of equitable adjustments for contract modifications.
    • Must possess working knowledge of computer software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
    • Must possess a working knowledge of Grounds Maintenance to include the following; grass mowing, grass trimming, edging, weeding, irrigation, aeration, leaf and vegetation, shrub and tree trimming /pruning and removal, fertilization, and general knowledge of the functions and limitations of all associated equipment involved.

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
    • Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
    • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
    • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
    • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
