Building and Grounds Supervisor jobs in Anaheim, CA

We are looking for a Grounds Project Manage for a Cemetery federal contract in San Diego California. The manager will oversee the maintenance of landscape, mulch beds, gardens, roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and others as directed. Provide all lawn mowing ad general turf care. Trimming and care of trees, shrubs, and other plant materials.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Cemetery Operations: Understanding of all aspects of cemetery operations, including both grounds and office activities, to ensure efficient and effective management of the cemetery.
• Principles and Practices of Management: Familiarity with management principles and practices, including supervision and training, to effectively lead and oversee cemetery staff.
• Accounting and Budgeting: Knowledge of accounting and budgeting practices and techniques to manage cemetery finances efficiently and responsibly.
• Grounds Maintenance: Experience in the maintenance and landscaping of outdoor areas and facilities, including familiarity with grounds maintenance equipment such as tractors.

Skills:

• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills including tact, courtesy, and diplomacy to effectively communicate with cemetery staff, visitors, and stakeholders in a compassionate and respectful manner.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required for tasks such as budget tracking, record-keeping, and communication.

Abilities:

• Supervision and Training: Ability to supervise and train cemetery staff to ensure they carry out their duties effectively and with sensitivity to the needs of visitors.
• Budget Management: Ability to manage cemetery budgets effectively, making strategic decisions to allocate resources appropriately while maintaining high standards of care for the cemetery grounds.
• Equipment Operation: Ability to operate grounds equipment, such as tractors, mowers, and trimmers, to perform maintenance tasks effectively.
• Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass a government background check to ensure suitability for the position and compliance with regulations.

By possessing these knowledge, skills, and abilities, the cemetery manager can effectively oversee all aspects of cemetery operations, including grounds maintenance, budget management, and staff supervision, while maintaining a compassionate and respectful approach in all interactions.

Some duties include but are not limited to:

Payroll

-Gathering time cards twice per month ensure each is signed by the employee and add the time cards hours.

-Make necessary corrections and resubmit as requested

-Training new and current employees (materials provided)

-Prepare and perform monthly Safety and Preventative Training (materials provided)

-Ensure all proper paperwork is filled out with new employees-

-Ensure all proper paperwork is completed with exiting employees

-Indicate and communicate training opportunities and assist in presenting appropriate training

Operations

- On-Site Inspections

- Ensure proper paperwork and recording is performed with each site inspection

- Follow up with deficiencies to ensure it is corrected; deficiencies may need to be performed by self.

- Scheduling if employees

- Cover open shifts appropriately with staff- Update individual staff schedules as appropriate to changes necessary

Administration

- Ensure all documentation is performed and appropriately filed

- Track usage of supplies (both office and site-wide)

Salary: $75,000 year
