Budget Manager manages and coordinates budgeting activities and the implementation of the organization's budget policies and guidelines. Monitors actual performance against estimates and prepares annual and interim budgets. Being a Budget Manager coordinates budget appropriations and responds to exception requests for funds. Monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Additionally, Budget Manager implements and supports tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Typically reports to a director. The Budget Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Budget Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     4. Cost Control:

    - Implement and monitor cost control measures to ensure expenses align with budgetary constraints.

    - Review and approve financial transactions to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.


    5. Forecasting:

    - Develop financial forecasts to assist hospital leadership in making informed decisions about resource allocation.

    - Analyze and project future revenue and expenses.


    6. Compliance and Regulation:

    - Ensure that budgetary and financial practices adhere to regulatory and compliance standards specific to the healthcare industry.

    - Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare finance regulations and adjust practices accordingly.

    - Identify process gaps and develop and document go-forward processes.

    7. Financial Reporting:

    - Prepare and present financial reports, presentations, and recommendations to hospital executives and the board of directors.

    - Assist with annual audits and financial statement preparations.


    8. Strategic Planning:

    - Collaborate with hospital leadership to align budgeting strategies with the hospital's long-term strategic goals.

    - Participate in strategic planning activities related to financial management.


    Qualifications:


    - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field (Master's degree is often preferred).

    - Relevant work experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or healthcare finance.

    - Strong knowledge of healthcare finance regulations and compliance requirements.

    - Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, budgeting software, financial modeling).

    - Analytical and problem-solving skills.

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
