JOB Description
The position prepares, monitors, and analyzes the State Courts System’s (SCS) Legislative Budget Request (LBR), operating budgets, budget allotments, budget amendments, and other operational functions.
Examples of Work
Review and analysis of monthly Florida Accounting Information Resource System (FLAIR) and People First data to formulate reports such as: rate, expenditure, payroll projections, salary budgets, vacancy, lapse factor, and other reports.
Preparation of annual legislative budget request (LBR), Capital Improvement Program Plan (CIPP), Long Range Program Plan (LRPP).
Preparation of State Courts System’s (SCS) Operating Allotments.
Analyze monthly management reports for any discrepancies, research and make appropriate recommendations for corrective actions, as necessary.
Monitor legislative activities related to the state budget.
Provide staff assistance to the District Court of Appeal Budget Commission and the Trial Court Budget Commission.
Develop and maintain SCS payroll projection files.
Provide budget analysis and data requests for SCS judicial and support personnel and Legislative and Executive Office of the Governor (EOG) staff.
Preparation of budget amendments for submission to EOG, House and Senate Appropriation Committees.
Update Office of Budget Services Policy and Procedures Manual. Prepare general correspondence for the Chief of Budget Services and Deputy State Courts Administrator. Other special assignments as needed, prepare charts, graphs, budget reports, summaries, and correspondence. Perform other duties as needed.
MINIMUM Education and Experience Guidelines
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, public administration, or a closely related field; and
Three years of related work experience.
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.
Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
