Bricklaying Supervisor supervises and directs a crew and other personnel engaged in masonry installation projects. Coordinates the activities of workers engaged in laying brick, tile, cinderblock, and other materials to construct or repair structures. Being a Bricklaying Supervisor checks the quality of work performed and directs clean up of job site. Requires a thorough knowledge of all types, shapes, and brands of bricks, mortars, and patching materials, and how to reline the ladles, tundishes and the furnace. Additionally, Bricklaying Supervisor requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a melt shop general supervisor or maintenance general supervisor. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. The Supervisor reports to the Department Manager. The Supervisor assists the Department Manager with administrative duties around daily operations of the department which can include, training, customer service standards, promoting awareness of product, company policy and procedure knowledge, team accountability, life skills education, and scheduling.
