Bricklayer applies mortar to bricks and scrapes off excess. Lays and stacks bricks neatly in order to build walls and various structures. Being a Bricklayer requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bricklayer may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     About the opportunity?

    You are a craftsman skilled in all aspects of refractory material and installation. You are both motivated and hard-working and collaborate with teammates to achieve results. Health and Safety are a top priority and being a team player. You are reliable and committed to producing quality work.

    In addition, you have:

    • Installation of brick shapes and combinations in rotary kilns
    • Keying in brick rings on a pneumatic brick rig
    • Welding, cutting, grinding, installing anchors, forming and pouring
    • Installation of refractory products using gunning and shot-crete applications
    • Able to interpret and understand drawings eg. Anchor centering/pattern, brick combinations in the kiln
    • Pull dimensions from a drawing for measurements and centering, starts & ends, thickness of the pour, lining, etc
    • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment – rotary guns, rivet busters, jack hammers, swing tube repair, greasing, bleeding diesel injectors
    • Regularly uses handheld power tools including but not limited to jigsaw, circular saws, drills
    • Operate equipment and machinery including but not limited to forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts, Brick machines
    • Relevant educational background eg. Refractory or Masonry qualification preferred

    • 1 years industrial work experience preferred
