Positions in this classification are distinguished from other classifications by the concentration on specialized professional functions for the court or specialized case processing functions, such as probate registrar or water clerk functions. Specialists spend 50% or more time on a specialized function such as those mentioned above. May require occasional travel. A district may utilize up to 5% of the total non-Judicial Officer staff allocation in the district for Specialist positions, rounded to the nearest full FTE, excluding the appellate courts.

This is a position to support the new 48 hour bond legislation that recently went into effect. Under the direction of the Duty Supervisor, this position will monitor incoming emails from across the state to determine if a defendant qualifies for a bond hearing and if so, he or she would schedule the inmate for a hearing, write up all of the necessary paperwork and obtain a date for future hearing. The candidate would be responsible for notifying all parties and requesting any reports if necessary. The candidate would handle the afternoon hearings on Web-ex and manage the breakout rooms with their attorneys. The position would be responsible for the data entry of the hearing, filling out the appropriate paperwork and emailing it to the other county.
This is a 20 hour a week position and will require rotational weekend work with the remaining hours scheduled during the week in 4 hour shifts in either the morning or the afternoon. There may some flexibility in the schedule as to which days and whether it would be a morning or afternoon shift.
This is also a floating position meant to support our traffic infraction/protection order/small claims division and the duty intake division as needed. The position includes but is not limited to data entry, scanning, and courtroom work.
The stated salary range on the posting represents the entry level through maximum compensation for the position. Salary offers are based on a wide variety of factors including a candidate’s experience, skills and education as well as budget availability. All new employees are hired at the lower end of this range. Salary growth within the job classification primarily is based on performance awards and cost of living and wage survey increases.

Minimum Education:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of office, legal, or court experience.
OR
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business, public or court administration or related field from a four-year college or university and one year of office, legal, or court experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. Occasionally handles emergency or crisis situations; frequently subject to interruptions, and multiple calls and inquiries. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
