Additionally, Branch Review Specialist recommends corrective actions and improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     The QRTP Unit Assessment Specialist works with the staff of the QRTP Assessment Unit, within the Children’s Review Program, to facilitate the assessment process for children in the custody of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services who are being referred for residential placement or are placed in a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP). The QRTP Unit Assessment Specialist gathers and tracks information related to children referred for or meeting criteria for a QRTP Assessment. The Assessment Specialist will also provide administrative support, handle day-to-day operations in the QRTP Assessment Unit, and assist Assessors, the QRTP Assessment Unit Manager and Children’s Review Program leadership in assuring that assessments and assessment-related tasks are completed within identified timeframes, consistent with contract requirements.


    Funded in whole from Federal and Cabinet for Health and Family Services funds.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, humanities, or related area OR High school degree and 1 year of combined office experience that includes data entry
    • 1 year experience in information verification, collection, management, analysis, and organization
    • Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, proof of current auto insurance

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • Experience in an office setting
    • Knowledge regarding DCBS and private childcare programs
    • Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills

    Essential Functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Gather and track child -related information (e.g., placement, commitment status), including communication with DCBS and provider staff as needed, to ensure CRP has the most accurate information for children being referred or considered for a QRTP assessment
    • Notify DCBS staff when a QRTP Assessment has been assigned, including requesting the appropriate consents and release of information forms
    • Request children’s records from schools, current and previous treatment providers, and other sources
    • Provide administrative support to CRP oversight staff as well as to QRTP Assessors located across the state
    • Enter data related to assessments into CRP database and iTwist, and maintain spreadsheets as requested
    • Work collaboratively with co-workers, communicating and sharing information to ensure unit cohesion and successful completion of QRTP Assessments
    • Carry out other unit-related tasks as needed, including adding records to a child’s e-file folder, entering data into New Vista’s EHR system (Avatar), and coverage of Medicaid billing
    • Assist with coverage in other CRP units as needed
