Advertising Sales Representative

Primary Objective of Position

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with 5 years’ experience in media sales – print, digital, conferences, and marketing services. Ideal candidate must have knowledge of the publishing industry.

Must be flexible and manage multiple responsibilities.

Professional Responsibilities

Professional demeanor is a must for all positions at Active Interest Media. In addition to courteous, friendly, business-like behavior, the following qualifications are fundamental to this position:

• Services existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
• Creates proposals that meet the client’s needs including print, online, trade shows, and marketing services using current rate cards as a guideline.
• Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the business and knowing your client.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Keeps management informed by updating Naviga/MSG with all activity – calls, sales, prospects, etc.
• Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
• Meets established sales goals.
• Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; making recommendations to management.

Professional Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a media sales representative meeting sales goals
• Experience and a working knowledge of the publishing industry, preferably in sales
• Excellent communication skills
• Prospecting skills
• Negotiation skills
• Product & market knowledge
• Presentation skills
• Client relationships
• Salesforce / MSG
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
• Organized and strong attention to detail
