Biomedical Engineering Technician delivers biomedical equipment services that provide safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support of biomedical clinical and research equipment. Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of medical equipment. Being a Biomedical Engineering Technician tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements to calibrate devices. Coordinates with medical staff and vendors to troubleshoot problems, resolve equipment malfunctions and enable new devices. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Technician supports medical staff with equipment operations training. Typically requires an associate degree. This versatile position is accountable for ensuring proper task management to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction in both general field services and specialized Biomedical Engineering repairs. The Field and Biomedical Engineering Repair Technician is responsible for on-site installation, repair, maintenance, system improvement, and testing under the guidance of the Site Superintendent. They assist in various phases of construction and biomedical equipment operation.

Work is medium to heavy demand in both general field services and biomedical engineering. Must be able to move objects and biomedical equipment, using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina in diverse service areas. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
