Biomedical Engineering Technician jobs in South Bend, IN

Our South Bend, Indiana plant is looking for their next Engineering Technician! The Engineering Technician provides technical support for the responsibilities of the Engineering Department. Provides assistance to the engineering staff to execute tasks that increases the department output. The work has both repetitive and unique tasks related to products or processes that the Engineering Department is working on. The Engineering Technician is a skilled resource utilized to maintain/improve all processes that ensure the production and distribution goals of the organization are met.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Higher education and/or training in time studies, data analysis, document changes, process flow, and continuous improvement activities is considered a plus.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

• Support/assist Engineering staff with process Improvements – Lean Manufacturing
• Support/assist Engineering staff with providing direct support to Production
• Support/assist Engineering staff with new product line start up
• Support/assist Engineering staff with documentation control
• Support/assist Engineering staff with R&D of equipment, processes and materials
• Support/assist Engineering staff with data collection and reporting activities

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

• Support/assist Engineering staff with all responsibilities.
• Complete tasks with the direction/supervision of Engineering staff to increase the work output
• Perform monthly or periodic data collection and reporting activities for Engineering
• Maintain documented information for Engineering compliance to AS9100 standards
• Be a resource with diverse abilities and skills that the facility can utilize to promote efficient production and distribution of our products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
• Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8 hours of the day.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours.
• Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
• Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
