As an Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in bringing our cutting-edge ideas to life by building prototypes and upfitting demo trucks. Responsibilities
1. Prototype Development:
· Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to create functional prototypes based on conceptual designs.
· Assemble, modify, and test prototypes using various tools, materials, and equipment.
· Document the prototyping process, including any modifications or adjustments made during development.
2. Demo Truck Upfitting:
· Work with the product design team to upfit demo trucks with Switch-N-Go systems and components.
· Install hydraulic systems, electrical components, and other specialized equipment onto chassis-cab trucks.
· Ensure that demo trucks showcase the full range of Switch-N-Go features and capabilities.
3. Testing and Validation:
· Assist in testing prototypes to verify performance, durability, and safety.
· Troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and recommend improvements.
· Maintain accurate records of test results and observations.
4. Collaboration:
· Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and production staff.
· Provide feedback on design feasibility, manufacturability, and potential cost-saving measures.
· Participate in design reviews and contribute practical insights to enhance product development.
5. Continuous Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within production and upfitting workflows.
· Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and manufacturing techniques
6. Mechanical
· Understand the metal fabrication, forming, tolerances and capabilities within our facilities and within our industry
· Understands design, testing and certification process
