Biomedical Engineering Director directs and coordinates biomedical equipment service operations that provide lifecycle management of biomedical clinical and research equipment including safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support. Establishes standards and procedures for equipment maintenance, testing, calibration, documentation, and inventory processes. Being a Biomedical Engineering Director provides technical leadership and develops applicable training and resources for medical staff to ensure correct and safe operations of all equipment and devices. Works with vendors to maintain up-to-date information about new products and equipment upgrades. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Director supports the equipment needs of all specialty areas including Radiology, Clinical Pathology, Cardiology, Respiratory Therapy, and others. Duties:
Engineering Technicians will be required to perform a variety of tasks such as welding, fabricating, electrical tasks, mechanical tasks, carpentry tasks, installation of sensors, sketch diagrams, and troubleshooting.
Examples of welding types used in fabrication projects may include metal inert gas (MIG), tungsten inert gas (TIG), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) known as “Stick”, welding.
Fabrication tasks may include the use of equipment such as drill presses, metal breaks, lathes, metal punches, hand & power tools, and other common metal fabricating equipment.
Electrical tasks will include but are not limited to 120/240 VAC work or higher, 12/24 VAC/VDC work, wiring sensors, data acquisition systems, solid state relays, constant current circuits, electrical troubleshooting, understanding circuitry & electrical theory, etc.
Mechanical tasks may include but are not limited to the operation of various pieces of equipment FAA, operate small engine equipment, fix/troubleshoot issues with equipment, etc.
Technicians will setup and tow a variety of FAA trailers for task order requirements.
Forklift and man lift operation will also be required with annual training being performed in-house by FAA Safety Office personnel.
Other on-the job training such as fall protection, CPR and confined space operations will also be provided by the FAA Safety Office. This candidate must be able to take direction from the Senior Engineering Technician and ensure quality of work is up to required standards and be self-motivated. Must have the ability to work without daily supervision/direction and can produce written documentation for the project manager who is responsible for developing technical reports or documents. The candidate must be physically able to carry heavy items, and work in a wide range of environmental and weather extremes.
At times a high amount of travel is required along with ‘Periodic’ and ‘As Needed’ travel and occasional night/weekend work will be required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Experience: 6-10 years of electrical, mechanical, and fabrication experience – Graduate certificate or degree from a Trade School may be substituted for 1 year of experience. An Associates Degree in related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for 3 years experience.

· Relevant Experience: Work on Fielded Airport Systems is not required, however is a strength. Electrical License not required, however is a strength
Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
