Biomedical Engineer applies engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to design and develop medical technologies and devices to support and enhance patient care and improve healthcare outcomes. Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed.   • Job Summary

    The Program Support Technician is responsible for general support of the Program Team during pre-, in- and post-life activities, according to the study protocols and company, guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Responsibilities

    • Is knowledgeable of company policies, guidelines, and SOPs and quality assurance standards.
    • Independently reads and understands study protocols and relevant SOPs prior to performing associated duties on assigned research projects.
    • Performs data preparation aspects of a study cycle for research studies, including but not limited to:
    • Works directly with the Study Directors in the generation of study books including required documentation.
    • Creates and collates forms and associated documents for study book.
    • Generates labels for sample collections and label tubes in a timely fashion prior to time point.
    • Enters study data daily or weekly (as applicable).
    • Assists in the coordination of shipping activities
    • Orders materials and supplies.
    • Responsible to store, ship, or dispose of samples and/or TA at end of in-life procedures according to protocol as directed by the Study Director. Communicates shipment requirements/Courier needs with the appropriate staff and Sponsor and/or recipient.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED required; associates degree or BA/BS Degree in science preferred
    •  3 -5 years equivalent experience in a laboratory setting
    • 3 years’ experience in computer-based software programs i.e. Microsoft® Office Suite.
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with various levels of personnel as well as regulatory agencies.
    • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to maintain efficient, fast-paced processing.
    • Works well in a team-oriented environment.
    • Knowledge of study protocols and IACUC processes, company policies and regulations involved.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently within established policies and procedures.
